This article may be a bit different from the usual, a little unrelated to the world of stocks. However, I am compelled to write this post as a reflection material for all of us.
On Friday, August 5, 2016 around 7 pm I was fiddling with Facebook. As usual I want to read people's comments on FB about stocks. My attention was diverted by online chat, there was a high school friend of mine (let's call it Si A) who was quite familiar, and had not seen each other for a long time. I immediately chat. From the chat, a short story about my friend who has a hobby of playing games and tinkering with computers suddenly "engages" in the field of accounting. It turns out that the field he is "cultivating" is not because of his desire, but because of "coercion" from his parents. In fact, my friend Si A does have a strong passion in the field of Information Technology (IT).
A little reminiscing about high school. In my high school, many students were naughty. These naughty students have no intention of studying. Told to study, tomorrow back lazy again. But when it was time for school events, where they were asked to perform as band players, or MCs, the performance was immediately josss.. Top markotop.
Well, maybe around you, you often find people working not according to their passion. Or even "engage in" certain fields because they are forced. And of course, people who work not according to their passion, usually tend to be more depressed and find it difficult to give a good and impressive performance.
So actually if someone doesn't give maximum performance or performance or only half performance, it could be the cause: Someone doesn't work according to what they like. In conclusion, you will only be successful if you love what you do.
Indeed, we all cannot deny that the number one success comes from God. No matter how you like a job, if you don't rely on God, you will never be successful. [Note: Not that you follow God, you will be successful in one night. There is no instant way to success. Success is a long process of ups and downs].
So, if you want to be able to work optimally and enjoy it, find a job that suits you, as long as your passion is lawful, no problem. And one other valuable lesson: Never force someone/child to try a certain field if they don't like it. What you want and like, may not be suitable for others, and vice versa.
For example, you have a very strong passion in the world of stock trading. You want to be a full time trader. Read the post: Become a Full Time Trader Part I and Become a Full Time Trader Part II. Yes, try to become a reliable full time trader. Indeed, there are many things that must be sacrificed. You have to spend a lot of time analyzing, you have to try to raise capital and make little sacrifices to put off buying the things you like and other sacrifices.
If people around you sneer at your profession, because you only trade at home, why don't you work in an office, you don't have to care too much. If trading is your passion, live it with all your heart, don't be easily influenced by what people say.
In essence, you can be successful if you love what you do. And all that success is the result of a process, not an overnight achievement.
